Prescription RX

One alarming trend is the rise of counterfeit pills — fake medications that are made to look like legitimate prescription drugs. These pills are often sold online or through social media and can be nearly impossible to distinguish from the real thing.

Counterfeit pills often contain deadly substances like fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin. Just one pill laced with fentanyl can be fatal.

According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a shocking 7 out of 10 pills seized in 2023 contained a potentially lethal dose of fentanyl.

As little as 2mg, the amount on the tip of this pencil, can be enough to kill someone.

Can You Spot the Fake?

Never trust your own eyes to determine if a pill is legitimate. The only safe medications are ones prescribed by a trusted medical professional and dispensed by a licensed pharmacist.
