Partner with DuPage County Health Department
We are seeking student volunteers to partner with the DuPage County Health Department (and the Illinois Department of Public Health) as part of the Reality Illinois /Teen Advisory Panel to the DuPage County Health Department. We are committed to positive youth development and preventing alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.
Student leaders will meet monthly during the school year, to advocate for a healthier world. Students will gain information and tools to strengthen their leadership skills and advocate for healthy lifestyle behaviors in our community. Last year, Reality students were able to convince the Glen Ellyn Park District and the Carol Stream Park District to pass an ordinance to make all parks smoke free and recently attended the signing of the Tobacco 21 law by Governor Pritzker.
Meetings are held at the Glenbard District 87 Administrative Center, at 596 Crescent Boulevard in Glen Ellyn (just west of Glenbard West). For more information, email Gilda Ross, Glenbard Student and Community Projects Coordinator or call at 630-942-7668. All high school students in dupage county are welcome to participate.
