The DuPage County Prevention Leadership Team

Working together to reduce substance use, and increase mental wellness among youth in DuPage County, IL.

We are seeking student volunteers to partner with the DuPage County Health Department (and the Illinois Department of Public Health) as part of the Reality Illinois /Teen Advisory Panel to the DuPage County Health Department.  We are committed to positive youth development and preventing alcohol, tobacco and other drug use. The student leaders will meet monthly ( on the first Monday of each month)  from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, to advocate for a healthier world. Students will gain information and tools to strengthen their leadership skills and advocate for healthy lifestyle behaviors in our community. Last year, Reality students were able to convince the Glen Ellyn Park District and the Carol Stream Park District to pass an ordinance to make all parks smoke free. Meetings are held at the Glenbard District 87 Administrative Center, 596 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn ( just west of Glenbard West ). For more information, contact Gilda Ross, Glenbard student and community projects coordinator, at or 630-942-7668.  All high school students in DuPage County are welcome to participate.
