March 1, 2019: Countywide Institute Day: The Power of Prevention-How to Achieve a Healthier school climate

This session will provide current data on health issues adolescents in DuPage County are facing related to mental health, sexual health and substance use. The session will also provide up to date information on hot topics and trends for the main substances youth are reporting using, including; vaping and tobacco use, marijuana, alcohol and opioids. Finally, the session will provide information on DuPage County resources that can help teachers tackle these hard-hitting topics with their students and the families they serve. Intended Audience: Health/PE Teachers, School Social Workers, Counselors, School Nurses, Student Resource Officers.

This training will be held at the DuPage County Health Department in Wheaton from 8:30am-3:00pm.
